A linear guide is a mechanical device used to support and guide moving parts, achieving high-precision linear reciprocating motion. It is also known as a slide rail, linear guide, or linear slide rail. Linear guides achieve motion through rolling friction (such as balls or rollers) or sliding friction. Their core structure includes a track, a slider, rolling elements (such as balls or needle rollers), and a cage. The rolling friction design significantly reduces the coefficient of friction (only 1/50th that of sliding guides), while the cyclic motion of the rolling elements distributes the force, achieving high-precision, low-noise, and long-life linear motion.
